The Ranger is made of 12-gauge steel, and includes such sturdy features as a drill-resistant hard plate, 18 solid-steel 1-1/4-inch-diameter locking bolts, and four-way locking bolt work. The safe also stands up to fire emergencies, with three layers of 1/2-inch fireboard in the door, two layers of 5/8-inch fireboard in the body, and a Palusol heat-expandable door seal. As a result, the safe can withstand up to one hour of fire exposure at 1,400 degrees F. And the Ranger activates an auxiliary "re-locker" when it senses someone is tampering with the electronic lock. Upon detecting the interloper, the Ranger automatically moves the "re-locker" back into position to keep your guns extra safe.
